Project Description
The site for the new Greenvale School is located in a residential area and backs onto the playground of the existing Forster Park Primary School. It will accommodate 100 pupils.
The brand new school for children with severe learning difficulties will be a highly accessible, mainly single storey facility with a second floor housing specialist teaching areas and administration.
- The new larger classrooms have been designed for teaching different special needs – including Autistic young people
- Subjects such as ICT, science and art have dedicated classrooms
- The new school will include a hydrotherapy pool, gym and sensory garden
- Distinctive design bring colour and interest to the schools
- Careful design means pupil movement in and around the building has been optimised such that a specially designed drop off area will provide greater security for the pupils whilst the whole process is greatly accelerated. This means more time teaching and less time embarking and disembarking. Communication routes between classrooms are as short and simple as possible, affording easy supervision within the building.
- The school will feature a covered link with neighbouring Forster Park primary to further enhance the close working relationship between the schools
